artists using hair

Hello fellow forumers - I was wondering if anyone could offer the names or websites about some contemptorary artists who use hair in their work, like Shoplifter, who did worked with Bjork on the Medulla cd artwork.

Would be muchly appreciated!! I failed an essay at my crappy art school, on postmodernism and fashion (damn postmodernism!) and am disenheartened enough to attempt an entirely different essay to try and pass course!!

Sheela, there's a good book written by Caroline Cox and published by Berg (we think) on hair. Good place to start. Also, there was an issue of Fashion Theory journal devoted specifically to hair. Should be in all good libraries and some bad ones.

At last spring's Crafts Council exhibition on Knitting, "Concepts in Knitting" I remember there was an artist who had knitted human hair as one of the exhibits. You're lucky because I just pulled out the brochure from a file and her name is Susie MacMurray and the piece was called "Maidenhair". As it happens she has a very comprehensive website showcasing a lot of her work at www.susiemacmurray.co.uk. It's really beautiful and definitely worth checking out.
