interviews with:
bjork
nick knight
stacey peralta
mike d
daniel clowes
stephen malkmus
chloe sevigny
meaty, sweaty interviews from everyone (tokion doesn't muck about : stright to the vein) but alot from knight about photography, communication and new media (as in showstudio, oh here we are!)......
here's a tasty bite and you'll have to take it home yourself to read the rest....
"I feel that, if you are putting yourself in the position where you are allowing that to happen, you are engineering the process of creating images in a way that you have to think on your feet. So you HAVE to react to what's in front of you, and so you genuninely use some new set of values or set of tools. I like the idea of loosing control, because if you control everything, it's really just like having conversations you had before. And I'm not very iinterested in saying the same thing again, again and again. I'm questing after new experiences. I think my work is like an ongoing quest - not that I have one burning issue but EVERY issue is a burning issue, if you want. There is enough stuff out there to make one permanently excited by the possibilities. I mean, I'm not trying to make any godly statement here, but I'm very interested in a lot of things, and I'm interested in other people. Photography allows you to have some type of way into that."
BAM!
