Give us Hope Obama.
With just over a week to go now until the American elections it looks as though Obama is a head. We must hope that he gets the presidency.
Bring back respect dignity, freedom of speech, and understanding into the equasion and a possibly a turn in the economy.
I would like to see Bush locked up for serious crimes against humanity.

" Give us Hope Obama " .... I didn't want to react to this post simply because POLITICS are to complicated to be able to start an objective debate if only because PASSION seems to cloud more often than not good judgement !

PEOPLE in EUROPE like and seems to FAVOUR OBAMA because they think OBAMA is very progressive therefore PEOPLE who favours him assume that he is :

------- Against the DEATH PENALTY

-------- Against carrying weapons

-------- In favour of GAY MARRIAGE

The FACTS are that OBAMA'S personal stance in all those issues are:

------- In favour of the DEATH PENALTY
------- In favour of the right to carry weapons and
------- Against Gay Marriage

So I'm wondering what is the meaning of : ........ " Give us Hope Obama " ???????

The MEDIA really knows how to inform us by using clarity and impartiality !! ... the good old trustful MEDIA !

The last few years have not been very good. I am not sure what the answer is. I get the impression that Obam is better than the war veteran that would carry on trigger hoe across the world in the name of peace liberty and understanding. All politics are the same to me in general. Just look at most of them, out of touch, control freaks.
I guess that as a person I am over sensitive, but all I want is peace and understanding to everyone. Not vindictive greedy excuses for wars and the harming of innocent people whilst these fat cats line there own pockets. Blair.

Indeed the last few years haven’t been very good ... but to make a choice out of desperation is never the answer I believe .... but to make a choice when people goes to vote having a very clear, well documented and accurately informed opinion about their favourite candidate and the issues they PERSONALLY care about, then I believe they are making ‘ their ‘ right choice .... and I certainly do respect that !

The PROBLEM with the current USA elections, in my opinion of no importance, is that to much of ‘ passionate emotions ‘ seem to be making the choice for them and that I find scary !

For one thing this election has been more about:

- ‘Teaching’ Bush a lesson, read REPUBLICANS.

- Taking revenge on Bush, read hate against BUSH ... very undestandable of course, but he is not the one running for PRESIDENT.

- It all has turned somehow into a ridiculous BEAUTY CONTEST won by OBAMA. Read all the nonsense about middle class women in their thirties voting for him simply because they find him very handsome and charismatic ... for one thing CHARISMA is not a guarantee for good and sound governing!. For God’s sake it is not as if they are looking for an spouse to marry to!.

On another note OBAMA does have a lot of explaining to do ... besides him making all the claims sound irrelevant and with the touch of ‘ naivity ‘ and ‘ innocent ‘ events in his life about his relationship with UTTERLY dubious characters such as a RACIST ‘ spiritual leader ‘, a former USA terrorist who is unrepentant about his hideous political stances involving doing harm to innocent citizens, and last but not least his close friendship with a member of an utterly cruel and bloodthirst political ultra radical group from the Middle East .... if that is just "character murder ", according to him and his supporters, fabrications by his opponents, why is it that the LA TIMES doesn’t want to release the tapes about his relationship with the latter ?

WHEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE .... it is better to clarify things, bring it all in the open with evidences and prove the accusers totally wrong! .... In any case, to me personally, the above ‘ alledged ‘ ... ‘ friendships ‘ with murky characters says more about his personal and MORAL stance on ..... important issues and how good his ability actually is to use good judgement to put to works in real practice .... in the matters of political volatile subjects! ....

I assume that at the time it all took place he never dreamed of becoming the President of the USA .... but as the saying goes ... ‘ THE PAST WILL ALWAYS CATCH UP WITH YOU ! " ... very unfortunate for him or anyone in POLITICS for that matter.

In the end the PRESS is being his best ally because the press simply HATES Bush ! ... and all the so called ‘ JOURNALISTS ‘ seem to have succumbed to a very dangerous weakness we humans tend to when PERSONAL PASSIONS cloud our sense of TOTAL IMPARTIALITY...... impartiality, something that should be always their HYPOCRITICAL OATH ! ........ somehow they do seem to have their very own ‘ Hypocritical Oath’ but of a totally different kind !!

And lets not forget that as this election seems to go ...' THE PRESS ' has already ELECTED Obama, took Bidden out of the picture ... he does seem to be to old after all, so let's not spoil the ideal PICTURE ..... and besides he is well known for being a loose cannon so let’s not spoil the BEAUTY contest at all !!! ... they have buried MacCain and arranged his funeral ... and as for Palin she has been to eagerly made to become ‘Miss Piggy’ so that we all can enjoy and have a FAIR laugh ...uhmmm the joys of being a WOMAN POLITICIAN when belonging , according to the PRESS , to the wrong side !

Isn’t HILLARY CLINTON lucky to belong to the right side ! .... never mind her lack of dignity and voracious ambition as to allowed herself to be humilliated by the guy belonging to the right side again ! ... he must be thrilled thinking that woman after all are just and object of desire who can be easily enticed to enjoy a HAVANA cigar !

But I’m just really, really curious ... how would the British public had reacted when Tony Blair ... who by the way was branded ‘ New Labour' ... read NEW HOPE then ! ... had happened to engage in attending a racist church for his SUNDAY prayers and ‘spiritual comfort’ , had had an established cooperative relationship with an IRA member and had had become involved and sympathise with a national who condones VIOLENCE of the worst kind in order to achieve his political goals ...... ???? .... Perhaps to to many people none of that really matters ... but we don’t really know yet for certainty OBAMA’s true character and colours because he has been in the POLITICAL ARENA far to short for us to be truly able to judge how capable and ideologically sound he really is as to be able to take such a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MOST EARNEST IMPORTANCE to the whole PLANET... and that scares me !, because he is as a matter of fact a POLITICAL BLANK PAGE yet to be written but already with VERY REMARKABLE footnotes written in very tiny, tiny letters ... almost to 'invisible' for us to be able to read them with clarity .... !

The only HOPE I see is that when going to the polls people would vote for the right reasons and then ..................... let’s wait and see !

I agree with you mate. There are two sides to every coin. And itâ??s the better of two evils. The Bush administration had a chance and wrecked it.
I mentioned a long time ago that I spent time working for NATO in Brussels.
That and other experiences I had within the RAF, taught me the lack of value that thee cretins have on human life in general. Itâ??s put down to an insignificant financial and expendability factor for a cause. I am sure that the Bush and Blair posse looked in to this whilst receiving messages from God through there meetings.
I am not sure what the answer is. I am now a total humanitarian and think that everyone deserves a chance in life to achieve what they want to at the altitude they want to. No one has the right to harm others for there own views or cause. I have been attacked for thinking like this but I will not change my views. Respect and understanding, seeing the beauty is the only way forwards in the new world.
May be I am just a dreamer. But I am not the only one.
Gali-You have already said that Bush deserves to be pulled up for what he has done. Obama is not suitable to lead America. What choice would you give?
Not being sarcastic but looking for an impossible answer. That might or might not be blowing in the wind.
Peace, and understanding to all.

Only the people who has the right to exercise their vote can give you their 'RIGHT' answer .....

But I still wondering what would the answer be about the hypothetical question I put to you about TONY BLAIR, who by the way was before HUGELY ' loved ; and now HUGELY despised as far as my perception goes ...

I always believe that " What's good for the goose is good for the gander." in the matters of POLITICS !

That’s going back to being charismatic with great promises. Not sure what happened to them.
I liked Blair as a man but was not happy with what he took us through even though he did a lot for gay rights in the UK.
What ideas do you have.?
I hope that Obama does not turn out the same.
Not sure now where this conversation is going.
All the best Chris

Yes I do have some ideas .... but let's quote something from the voters themselves :

From Poll: One in seven voters still persuadable
By ALAN FRAM, Associated Press Writer

QUOTES :>....."I don't have a feel for either one of these guys," said Jeff Condatore, 47, an independent and computer analyst from Ringwood, N.J. "I don't like any of the choices."

Nearly two-thirds express frustration and a quarter anger over the campaign, far broader disaffection than decided voters voice. Only 12 percent say they are excited about the race, one-third the figure for voters backing a candidate.

Just four in 10 persuadables report being contacted by political workers urging them to vote in the presidential contest, compared with just over half of those who've made up their minds. That could reflect the campaigns' targeting their resources to more motivated voters or to problems locating these less involved people.

"I don't think anything will change if Obama is elected. If McCain is elected, I don't think anything would change either," said Susan Miller, 42, a Los Angeles accountant tentatively backing Libertarian Bob Barr.

The US is in for a tough 2 years no matter who wins, I think between the 2 candidates, Obama motivates young people, which is a very important factor. Here is a guy they feel could relate to them, in terms of his background. In the age of facebook, global communication, global village, Obama's upbringing in Indonesia, Hawaii, and having lived in the tough part of Chicago, and being mixed race, and has a sister who is part Asian, brother in law who is Chinese, young people really feel this is someone with a different world view and different approach, and his policy proposals-on education, healthcare, defense, foreign policy, are closer to what the country needs at this point in time. I don't think people think his association with a 60's radical post a thread to the nation, because there were tons of radicals back in the 60's, and like many young people who were angry with the establishment in the 60's,except this guy went further. There are huge problems at stake, and to continue focusing on an ex-hippie radical in the 60's is not useful for looking at the bigger picture.

" BUSH AND POWELL HUGING "

REP>:bagnewsnotes.typepad.com/ bagnews/2006/01/page/4/

As I said .... : "The only HOPE I see is that when going to the polls people would vote for the right reasons and then ..................... let’s wait and see ! " ... how it all turns out .... in the matters of making PROMISES before getting to power, promises that are hardly ever kept after getting to power ... because as the practice has shown always .... once they get to that 'throne' .... their memory begins to fade ... somehow :):)

In my opinion, if Powell was that discontented with BUSH's ' political ideology ' he should have shown character and defected the Republican Party centuries ago ... How convenient to defect now .... really ' noble' ... uhmmm ... don't I love politics if only because we will always add qualities to politicians if even the practice proves the opposite ... but then I like to make clear that this is my very personal point of view with video's or not justifiyng Powell's great sense of ' VISION' !!

And please it is not about his family tree ... it is about his 'true' character .... and yes to rebel is great but to believe in violence and murder that is not being idealistic that is just showing the twisted and sick nature of a human being ... however much people may justify it ...

Family tree has nothing to do with politics or how an individual ideologies develop !..... If we take that into account then ( and please do forgive me the example ) then Hitler would had never persecuted Jewish people ... because the biggest secret Hitler was so afraid of to become open ... was .... that he had genes belonging to those of he used in order to become powerful !

As far as I'm concerned AMBITION is what drives politicians, and plenty of it ... and NOT ideals because most of them confuse ideals with exercising politics as they go along ....
