if he had some extra money, why don't try to create a small industry? from what i learn is, don't expect people to always be there to help you... sometimes we need to show that we can do with or without them

You have no idea about the U.K fashion industry-either you know someone in the business or you have a famous dad and alot of model friends and that is how you get your foot in the door. All you need is to be given a chance and there aren\'t many people in this world that are willing to help but there are some rare persons out there and they are the ones I am looking for.

Actually thats not neccessarily true, but I used to feel like that when I was younger. I remember convincing myself that the only way in at Conde Nast was to have a dad who was a colonel or be an oxbridge graduate. I was wrong though.

I'm sure he's good, but it does make him look like a bit of a loser having you try to pimp him out - do you know what I mean? Also I generally find that people who have a 1st degree have done everything to please the tutors/examiners etc. and have ticked all the boxes, but don't neccesarily know how to think outside of one.

I'm sure he's great, and if he is then someone will notice that.

All I can say is he isn't the only one. I have been looking for work on and off for six years!!! I have tried to start my open label, but I got suckered by a money hungry, fame seeking loser and now I am back to square one and sometimes I just want to quit. But I am working on another show and hopefully someone will see my work and give me a job...or the money to do my own thing. I wish him good luck, because we are in the same boat...sailing off to where we don't know.

After mentioning that I had studied photo media for 4 years I was told by the agents of a very well known photographer. ( who did not go to college to get established) What did you go to college for, as they give you a riggid way of thinking, sometimes they change the creative process that is going on in your head so that it conforms with set rules in order to fill the brief.

jeez... then sure it's easier for people in my country to climb the ladder. because the labour cost is not too expensive in here, peole can easily start their own business, and if they're goos, it can easily spotted, some people have more luck from their connection, but some who don't can just override if they're good. do u know a brand called bagteria? it's a craft handbag brand, they also sell in UK and NY, it's an indonesian singapore based company. i heard they've been contracted by chanel couture some times ago to make handbags for chanel. also a friend from vietnam said that valentino or something hired a bab brand from his friend there...
