Abot three years ago I saw an exhiibition of Davids work in London, David worked and was possibly found by Andy Wharhol, his work was in high demand at the time, I was wondering where he is now and what is he doing,. What magazines if any is he workibg for. I like the high qualty high camp style of his work, it is fun coulurfull and big.

David La Chapelle stills shoots stills for Italian Vogue, but also moved into directing. He's shot videos for Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani to name a few, and last year directed a dance film about 'kronk' (a kind of hip hop dance). He has also recently shot a short Romeo and Juliet modern day piece which will be showing in cinemas as a prelude to the movie.

I remember hearing some people talking about the Romeo and Juliet film in NYC during fashion week, and from what I understand it wasn't so good. I think it's an H&M commercial, or something to do with H&M as it was played at the show.

I did like Rize though, although I would warn you guys from trying out dance moves after seeing it. I got a high heel in my face when a friend tried a move on me. I almost lost my eye. They should have had a "Professional Dance Moves, Don't Try at Home" warning in the movie somewhere. I'm now terrified whenever I see a high heel shoe in a two meter proximity.

You've got to love that Kronk.

I think David was a visionary 5 years ago, but I agree about the promo's he's shot. He was a massive influence on me when I was studying and I got introduced to him once in London when I was younger and he wasn't particulary nice. Guess thats always the way.

The Romeo and Juliet thing is for Hennes, I imagine it's very camp and shot with a ring light throughout. Probably with some people in rabbit costumes running in and out of frame...

Hermes! I'm so bad with names. Yeah, but I hear it's actually not camp at all. Supposedly it's really badly shot, and there's no kick lights either... maybe he's changing direction?

No I mean't Hennes as in H&M.

Maybe he is, I don't know. He is very good though, don't get me wrong. Not like Rankin, god what a crap photographer he is...
