I would be curious to know how people feel about Polaroid discontinuing the production of all it's instant film products.

I can't help it to think of Paolo Roversi. Nick, how could it affect your image making in the future?

handamari, nice to see your Polaroid! It would be great to see others from around the world show off what they have in their Polaroid archive.

A friend, in New York, sent me a link to a petition to help save Polaroid from stopping the production of instant film. For what ever it's worth, here is the link.

I am gutted. Are they really gonna discontinue ? Surely someone will take up the mantle of producing the format, there has to be call for it ... i'm not a fan of the fuji kit though :(

I love polaroids, the unique quality it has and the speed of having some instant result, I don't want to see it discontinue. I think polaroids is a fantastic ingredient in art and fashion.

It's tragic... There will always be a market for Polaroid film, it's so unique... Perhaps some other company will continue production... What other products does Polaroid make?

Polaroid are in negotiations with other companies so that they can manufacture their film under license. I doubt if the large formats will be available though. From the news reports that I have read, Polaroid are now concentrating on producing mobile printing devices that work in conjunction with cameras and mobile phones.
