Imagery & advertising

Showing messages 1–3 of 3

Hi, does anyone know of any leads on the relationship between imagery and modern day advertising? i.e. books or websites etc Something with some depth?

Possibly something that looks at the psychology or politics behind well known advertising campaigns. I haven’t managed to find many books online but would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction

Thanks, Patch

Fashion Spreads by Paul Jobling encapsulates your question, and if you have not already considered it would be a great place to start.

Roland Barthes is good critic to look at (thanks Penny).

You may also be interested in texts on Psychoanalysis, Structuralism and Post-modernism.

Hope that helps. Feel free to email me if you want to chat about anything.
