In reply to Karl Fuler:

PS.... from REUTERS , Saturday, December 15, 2007....

" ......Franco Zeffirelli, 84, added that papal robes were "too sumptuous and flashy". "What is needed is the simplicity and sobriety seen in the other echelons of the Church," he said...."

Somehow fashion seems to be a matter of importance and influence ... even when dealing in the matters of spirituality.... :)

In reply to Galileo's Universe:

"but I wonder aren't we still rather misguided indeed in term ' Christianity'?

You have hit on something here. After the 12 apostles all died, Christianity went into a dark age. Truths were passed on and some became warped, some fragmented and some others disappeared and the creation of yet other "truths' to fill in the blanks.

Think of a glass table (representing truth) falling and breaking. If one group picked up one large piece and another picked up a handful of small pieces, they would both have truth but not all of it.

You were right about humility being an important part of Christ's teachings. A careful study of the scriptures will give anyone who seeks it the guidelines of Christianity. With these guidelines and truths they could look for a church that has more rather than less of Christ's teachings.

What a great way of describing .... how THE TRUTH could had become somehow along the track of time merely a kind of partial truth .... and the use of GLASS as a simile is the best anyone could ever think of to illustrate it ! , because indeed the TRUTH is just like glass... fragile and very vulnerable and if indeed broken into fragments ... it is all bound to be misinterpreted or used and abused by whoever may be the one to pick up one of the pieces and then add his/her own ' interpretation' or his/her own truth as they personally see it to be ! ...

May I say you have just created an INVISIBLE work of art to represent ... TRUTH ......:):):)

.... yes 'humility ' is the key .... but of course that is not a very attractive ( let's say COOL :)) part of Christianity because it goes against the nature of the Beast ...:):)

Thank you for your kind words. An invisible work of art ... nice.

You just made me think about Karl's question and maybe this too is the answer. Perhaps when we do invisible works like giving or helping anonymously we feel the spirit. When we give or help and the deed is known far and wide then that knowing by others is our reward.

I was referring to him making it the staple religion of the Roman Empire. He did many things, I believe commissioning the New Testament was one of them, but the most important was taking a largely underground and persecuted religion and making it mainstream in a very, very short period of time.

In reply to eucinpyos:

Constantine made Christianity the staple religion of the Roman Empire at its height indeed. Too many religions in a kingdom makes the people harder to rule.

I think the "commissioning of the New Testament" is from the Da Vinci Code. I don't believe there is any truth to it.

MARIKO MORI - ' Wave UFO' .....Ref.Deith Projects

By the way ... while talking about spirituality, in case should anyone be interested, do check this female artist . I find rather interesting and stimulating her thinking and believes behind her fascinating creativity

---------------------------------------------------------------

" The works develop Mori's continued interest in a fusion of art and technology, Buddhism, and the idea of universal spiritual consciousness. Drawing from ancient rituals and symbols, Mori uses cutting edge technology and material to create a strikingly beautiful vision for the 21st century. "
