In reply to Patch:

I often think that providing a necessary service to people (doctor, policeman, nurse, teacher etc.) might be more satisfying than poncing about being a 'creative'. People only like what I do because it fits in with contemporary RULES of a certain area of fashion.
Of course, we can all do what we like when not working - unless, Patch, you have a family to look after and little money to do that - for instance.

......and just imagine what would happen if those very dedicated people
in their professions weren't there for us all !...they all are utterly, utterly.....indispensable !...and that is the irony of things !. Perhaps what Patch is reflecting on....is one of today's anomalies in the matters of self-steam....: that you are not of ' value ' unless you become truly 'successful ' in life in the eyes of other people.......I call that ...ADS... the...'American Dream Syndrome ' ..but with a kind of a dark distortion...propagated by guess who ?......that is what manipulation is all about...in my opinion ...and please do correct me, if I'm wrong.....it reminds me of a fairy tale I read once....when in the end everyone in the town was very successful and rich...everyone had gold...but nothing to buy...because naturally no one needed to do any kind of ( 'unimportant ') work anymore......:):):)

We all seem to be so incredible spoiled that we cannot longer keep things
in proportion and recognise how everyone in a public service deserves our respect at least...Just imagine if there weren't rubbish collectors to do the job ?...Just imagine ! ....let your fantasy go wild for a second ... for one thing I wouldn't then find Park Avenue, Bond Street or Rue Georges V that atractive or prestigious because it would with great certainty look just like one of those well very known neighbourhoods of Calcutta....were public services aren't as good as ours....in comparison to theirs, in this very particular example....
No rubbish collectors equals no clean streets to enjoy the pleasures of.....window shopping....at least... !...:):):)

Going back to what I was saying earlier.
I don’t know what you guys and girls do to survive, But I am going to have to take on minimum wage agency work in order to feed and move things further forward during this winter.
, I thought at this stage in my life I would be getting there by now, rather frustrating.
My work is fetching good prices at auction the feedback by both magazines and book publishers has been great, so where am I going wrong, any constructive advice will do, but don’t tell me to get a job in a factory etc.. He He

I think that if you are unable to channel your work in the direction you want to...and to reap material rewards...you really need the right agent in your field....to represent you...

Some people hate to have to deal directly in the matters of
exchanging coins...some people hate to loose their privacy and anonymity....some just want to become famous....and some people just do not care about the whole fuss...but believe me in all those cases....having someone who knows about the business of promotion and exposure can be of great help ....but you will have to do some research on that...ask people in your field who might be able to make suggestions to find ...the right agent......it cost money of course but then...he must be good in..'the art of promotion and selling'....and for artists that is very, very often their... 'Achilles' heel '......because everything has to do with...good and succesful marketing in order to have succes...:):)

Thanks for that.
I will have to look in to it, I have no problem having someone promoting me as long as I keep doing what is important to me.

.....the discussion gave me this quirky idea... Chris perhaps you should do a photo shoot concept...called ' parallel worlds '...:):):)
Do you remember in the series of Superman the existence of 'parallel worlds ' where everything was the opposite to what was normally expected to be in the 'normal ' world ?.....ok ..the idea is to shoot people whose profession are considered 'most ordinary ', for instance .....a female rubbish collector dressed in YSL....a female bus driver wearing Balenciaga....a nurse wearing Martin Margiela..as if saying... 'no matter how unglamurous my work might be .....who cares because I enjoy success !! .....LOL !

In reply to Chris Summerfield:

...it wasn't meant as ' humiliating ' :):):)..but as a parody in the psychologically complicated matters of what is perceived as ' success and personal fulfilment ' .....in a world that has very little time for exceedingly urgent, earnest, vital issues affecting the actual present and with absolute certainty the future of us all... as well........:):)
