Just seen the newsest i-D magazine in Page One, Kowloon Tong HK, and had a flick through and seen some new work by Sean Ellis. What a refreshing change to see some new work that is inspirational and fresh!

I would also like to "Congratulate on winning Gold Hugo and Best Short Film Award @ the 40th Chicago International Film Festival" for Cashback....

Any thoughts on his images in the i-D?

WKW.

Hello Wong Kar-Wai. May I digress from your topic briefly and say that we've noticed that you've been a long-time contributor to the site (webchats and the like) but until the user profiles, we were never sure whether you were *the* Wong Kar-Wai!! It goes without saying that we're thrilled to have sustained your interest for so long - can I ask you to e-mail me directly (penny@showstudio.com)? I would not be doing my job if I were not to take this opportunity to encourage such an auspicious and important image-maker to consider upping their contribution to SHOWstudio substantially!

I am imprest with the cover of the magazine, in the preset issue a series of photographs, taken in low key lighting predominantly in black and white with a hint of colour around the eyes of the models looks good and a bit of thought has gone in to the image making

I always find my self amazed, completely captivated and totally inspired by the work of Sean Ellis. Sadly though, I never seem to see enough of it! It's nice to see his work in this months iD and it's no surprise that it's brilliant.

"365 a year in fashion" you can get it through http://www.sean-ellis.com/ it's a great book of Sean Ellis photography, you get an original photo with the limited edition.
Congrats for "In the mood for love" and "2042" + chunking express, fallen angels and the rest. The dinamism of the first movies and the intimacy of the last two is the most difficult to achieve. If you are the real WKW... If not, just the same.
