Last year I was using a gym in Plymouth and a rasest argument broke out, I was suporting people coming in to the UK to live.
After leaving the gym I was walking home through the City Centre when I heard a girl shouting go home you f.....g pa..y to two teenagers near by, another boy ran up to them and said the same thing. This caused the two guys to retaliate which nearly turned in to a fight.
I find this attitude still very backward and stems from a lack of education and understanding.
I love the dynamics of a multi cultural society wich has become Plymouth over night, with langauges being spoken from every corner of the world, poeople talking about there lives and friends in other countries, in a lot of ways the new world is becoming a richer place to live. We must all play are part to keep it a stable place to live.

The UN made the state of israel and the neighboring countries were not happy. Yet Israel was given space and took (litterally Took more and more from then countries and expect the people to just sit there and not say anything)land that is why they are called SETTLMENTS because tat land is not their own, they give back what they had taken which is fair enough and say its a huge gesture because they have given back what wasn't theirs in the first place. Why were the israils placed in that part of the world and were did they come from to be placed there? Why did not America and the U.K take the people into there own countries and let them live in their own countries if they are so concerned and support the bombings. the U.S is not a natural country because the natives are all housed in reservations in CANADA their land was taken from them. So it is understandable why the U S and the U >K support the Isralies because the US have funded the weapons for this war so the people to blame is the arms dealers and not the users. the State of Israel is not a safe place for the Isralies they are being attacked and attacking their neighbours just because the UN decided this is where they should stay. I do not think this will end this is the mistake the UN have made and now the innocent children/babies are paying for it. We need to understand the root of the problem this is not about religion this is land, greed and power. After all these lives have been lost, I hope the soliders are O >K (if the Israeles haven't Nuked them, themselves?)

"The Ottoman Turks ruled most of the Middle East for a thousand years, largely with the concurrence of their Arab subjects. The British and the French displaced them in the nineteenth century, again with the approval of the Arabs, who by then wanted liberation from Ottoman rule. The Arabs themselves were not indigenous to most of the regions they now populate. Before the Turks, they were an imperial power who arose out of the Arabian Peninsula in the seventh century to conquer the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Southern Europe. None of this history provokes any censure from the critics of imperialism today, who reserve their reproaches exclusively for the European variety."

ALL MAJOR CIVILIZATIONS, western and Arab, have gone through imperialist phases. You don't have to approve of imperialism to recognize the fact that if we stretch the timeline back far enough - everyone's guilty.

Isn't it irrelevent? Isn't it far more important to focus on the HERE and NOW and try to come to some kind of agreement and negotiation?

The Problem in Israil is not acseptable and Britain should not be following directions from a Country that agressively leads by the macho power of a gun.
A rather primitive mentality where a gun is the extention of masculinity.
Using brains in stead would poosibly achive a lot more, save valuable lives of harmless and inocent people.
I get the impression that what is going on is paramount to ethnic cleansing. There must be a cease fire now before any more lives are lost.
Some Countries seem to think that the way of the world is for everyone to be socialy and culturaly like them, the one I think of at the moment can not adapt to the cultural and ideals of other Countries and wants everyone to be like them.
At the same time they are the most shallow and insecure of people, and in a lot of cases a lot less happy for this.

it seems to be very polarised right now the lines are drawn.its a world-wide war.muslims vs everybody else.the aim a world-wide islamic state practicing shahrira...form of medievil fundamentalism.
thats the way it has broken down.for the people of lebanon this is just a catastrophe their country ruined...its like england bombing dublin, and destroying ireland because theres terrorists active in the north.
but theres no doubt about it now that there is a war "on"and if you dont want an iman or chastity police controling yours or your childrens lifes lives in fifty years time please be aware of it...its not a chattering class liberal sentiment, but a view few who use this forum would care to share- but it needs to be said.
wake up!

I would tend to agree that everything is leading to a police state, in the name of freedom and liberty.
And at the same time some elements of this authority is still quite primitive and sadisticly minded.
Which creates a dangerous and unlivable dictatorial situtation.
