So, what are people's thoughts on the new issue of i-D? Improved on possibly the worst issue ever, the "Horror Issue". Styling is a lot better; really like the "lose weight, grow young, stay fit!" by Franscesca Burns/Kenneth Capello, maybe my proclivity for Jessica Stam as a model, though; Jeremy Scott-styled (basically his Autumn/Winter 2006/07 collection) "jeremy scott's lean routine," that pizza kimono-construct alongside chocolate cake dress are just plain crazy, yet amazing; and "pow!" by Marie Chaix (fashion editor for Self-Service)/Magnus Unnar - the whole elasticity/movement thing is fun, especially when you're trampolining in a Marios Schwab figure-hugging dress. "raised by wolves" by Olivier Rizzo/Willy Vanderperre was ok, much the same as everything else they do. The only thing I was really disappointed with, was the Nick Knight/Simon Foxton feature, "What are you looking at?," just seemed a bit obvious the link between the brutality of the city & the way they conceptualised it. I guess I just don't like the CCTV/fuzzy imagery/bruised knuckle-type stuff - nice to see Patrik Söderstam get editorial again, though - he's been away for a bit! The feature on Pineal Eye becoming a model agency purely because it employs “beautiful people” was a bit vacuous & dull – yes, we do know all your shop assistants are über-cool, super humans working for a supra-fashion boutique.
