I'm quite obsessed by the Illustration/painting rendering in photos

for example
Desiree Dolron (exteriors 2001-2005)
http://www.desireedolron.com/

or Erwin Olaf (separation)
http://www.erwinolaf.com/Pages/PP_Frms.htm

really domine this "technic"

i'm an absolute beginner fotographer, didn't study foto and learn bymyself with books websites and clever advices i can catch....

Could anyone tell me how to do this ?

Does it depends only on lights or iso, av, tv..... ?

Are these pictures finely reworked in photoshop or any other software made for ?

also if any knows about other photographers as much talented/inspired as them please leave me some names/links here.

thank you

Multifake, in regards to the two examples you provided, they differ substantially on a technical level. The majority of Desiree's work is a mixture of getting the right image in-camera and a lot of work done in Photoshop. You're looking at hours of work in some cases per image depending on the original.

Erwin Olaf's seperation is a tricky one as it's more realistic and could be done in-camera as well. Photoshop can be used to achieve elements in the image although sometimes that may not be a practical choice.

Photoshop is a powerful tool that I'd suggest you start learning if you like the look of these images.

Its good to see that the very creative photographer Erwin Olaf is getting a mention again in the forum.
I loved the work he produced two years ago for an exhibition and book he produced in Holland.

You are bringing some interesting photographers to the notice of forum members Bina, just had a quick look at the site and it looks fun, some of it a littal cheesy but over all fun.

You want to check out the american photographer who shot a bunch of middle american houses submerged half in water, also weird pictures of suburbia with buses on fire and everything very eerie yet normal....

Gregory Crewdson! thats his name.

has some good shots of his, google him also.

I saw the Gregory Crewdson exhibit at the white cube, last year I think, I thought the scale of his stuff was quite impessive, looked like they were expensive shoots. the lighting looked complex, tho i dont know anything about lighting so maybe im just easily impressed. I liked the wierd david lynch feel about them.

Anyone seen any of Wim Wenders location photography? he has done some nice stuff. Very cinematic.
