The material in the exhibition is primarily photography and video, depicting urban spaces used for gay sex. It brings together works by a selection of international contemporary artists to illustrate how gay culture has traditionally been forced to convert spaces reserved for other purposes
(such as parks and toilets) into social and intimate spaces, and the contemporary relationship between homosexuality and the public realm.

‘Glory Hole’ focuses on the modification of public homosexual practices in cities in the age of gaydar and gay marriage, and on the restriction of sexual practices in public spaces surveyed and invigilated by a predominantly heterosexual society. The exhibition looks at the
re-appropriation of public buildings and spaces for sexual activity, and the ghetto-isation of homosexual practices.

An exclusive Renegade City screenprint by illustrator Neal Fox is now available

point taken, chris. i won't criticize you anymore and find something productive to write about.

the US is a great place to be a student, but for the sake of studying fashion i sometimes wish i was more centrally located. san francisco is a beautiful city but the fashion scene here is shrimpy. we do have a fashion week coming up in august, though. also there isn't much of a youlth culture here, since no one raises kids in the city; you have to go to the suburbs for that. in general, the education you get is good, but the job opportunities are elsewhere.

chris,
you must thrive, in some strange way, off of the criticism that you have received non-stop for god knows how long.
many, many people have brought up the same good point that you don't seem to know how to keep the odd thought inside your own head and every time it's the same lame 'ah come on guys, why ya pickin' on me".
anyone with anything interesting to say has been stifled by the massive amount of drivel that you fill the boards with.
congratulations.....you (one single bore) have reduced this forum (that once had some good, lively debate) to the chris show......and the chris show 'blows'.....and so unfortunately now so does the forum.
it's a damn shame.
now you can tell me i'm not nice and carry on as always.

St Valentine it would be good if you could follow the fashion show in August and possibly give feed back.
Culture and lifestyle in my area of the world is exiciting and vibrent, which is why I stayed here rather than re locate to London.
For those of you knocking me, why dont you open up a debate and talk, I am sorry if I find life exiting and am over enthusiastic.
Part of being in the creative media environment is showing an interest in things, and what you are doing, possibly breathing in the environment, and letting people know that you are out there.
I am sorry if this upsets some of you.
So lets have you talk about your selves and open up instead of attacking, this way we paint a picture of a cross section of divers lifestyles, which is exiting.

I must admit also that the only reason I kept this thread alive is becouse you asked me to break it. Not Fun To Be With.?
I will check out the details you have left Flux and thanks.
St Valentine. Plymouth is Also a beautifull City with fantastic geographical locations near by . woodlands, waterfalls, sea, and baron areas called Moors, great for doing photo shoots with out traveling to far.
Most of the jobs are on UK national minimum wages, so there is not a lot of spending money in the City, it also has one of the largest Council housing areas in the Country,.
Youth Culture is based around Skateboarders, Surf culture and Gothic, the goths tend to hang around the City Centre drinking at week ends.
Plymouth has become a large student catchment area, specialising in the arts media industry as well as, everything else from medicine to surf technology, with student coming from all over the world, it makes the culural scene diverse and energetic.
Over the year Newquay a few miles away holds the UK surf chamiponships so especialy in summers like this it is hedonistic with bronzed surf possers everywhere and a girls on the beach chassing them,or maby a top fashion photographer shooting for Vogue, there only interest is the sea surf, and sun. In the past top Australian soap stars have been seen on Fristral beach chassing the surf.
The seasons are short but great over here when they come.
All the best St Valentine and its good to here how things are where you live.
