I don't think you need ''time, models and money'' to make ''poetry in art''. You can use shit equipment and create something wonderful. Some create shit with little time, unprofessional models and no money though.

Well hello Pony, I thought that you had a littal more about you than getting in to a public slanging. match. I guess that I left my self open though by being so opinionated on Mr Richardsons work, I am just frustrated.
I use old medium format camera equipment in my work. obviusly you do not like it but that again is your opininion, I use un professional models becouse I do not have the funds to hire models but that is not an issue, and there again what is a professional model supposed to represent anyway, the best people in the streets. I try and bring the best out in my models. If I thought that I was going down the direction of Terry Richardsons in my work then I would be very concerned. What is your work like? You are right in the fact that you dont need time and money to create good work , but the point I was getting at I think is that you need money and power to be able to get away with turning out this sort of work and models prepared to de grade them selves. I am not looking for cheesey nice pics, but there again promoting dysfunctional lifestyles does nothing for promoting fashion, or the well beign of a nation.
In deed the people who live like this in a lot of cases are the people who could not afford the clothes the models are wearing in any case.
I regret Knocking Mr Richardsons work and so leaving my self open for your views, and dont want to go down this track any further, it gets a bit petty when it just becomes a public slanging match. I woul rather be taking pictures in the style I am in than going down the tracks of Mr Richarson though.
Lets see some of your work Pony maby you can identify with Terry Richardson

personally i find his style liberating. it is almost like it is implied it is ok to do your thing express your desires etc as a photographer. if he can do it i can do it.

total garbage. predictable. sex as art. low culture as art. same old crap. famous dad.
When I see any picture from Terry Richardson, I always immediatly remember the work of Juergen Teller. I prefer Juergen´s style, I find it more personal than Richardson´s.
I think you can play with sex on a very subtle and sophisticated way in fashion (as Helmut Newton did) playing with fetishes and desires; but if I just want to find porn I´d rather buy "Hustler" than "Vogue".

To Jean Leander court, Jurgen Tellers work is more subtle, and I guess the other statements says a lot also. Just about to go to Cow"s sailing to get my thoughts together for next week catch you creatives later

It should be evident from my other posts that i don't ''identify'' with Richardson's work, atleast not from an ''artistic'' perspective. It is you who says you could do better ''... given the time models and money'', not me. I wouldn't mind opening up to criticism, if it was me who would share such a sentiment. Fortunately, i didn't and wouldn't.
I might not identify with Richardsons work on an artistic level but, if i'd strip away the aspects that don't interest me, i can still see a man with the ability to compose.
I have seen your work and thought it was a bit over the top to share the view that you ''could do better''. Now (this part might be a lowblow, but i prefer not to sugarcoat), the ''Lets make poetry in art'' as the ending to you ''could do better'', i thought of as a bit rich, after viewing your work.
P.S: I think Terry Richardson could do better with inferior equipment, less time and unprofessional models
This is really stupid. Neither of the pair of you are particularly keen on Richardson - and he is supposed the subject of this posting - but instead of playing nicely together you're bickering! If you're going to start getting this dirty personal, go ahead, boil his bunny why don't you! But do it somewhere else please.
