David Baily, house hold name in the UK during the sixties and seventies, did a lot to promote fashion photography and the lifestyle in to a cult status surounded around his work and models.
He mixed with the most famous people of the day from rebells in the way of the Krays, to Andy Wharhol and the velvet underground.
He now lives in the SouthnWest of England where a few years ago Melvin Brag did a film on him called the Lady Is A Tramp, for the South Bank T.V Show.
(Baily has worked quite a lot with Rankin in recent years and appeard in azed and Confused Magazine.)
It would be great to see a back log of the valuable South Bank show be released on DVD, there are a lot of great creative people now recorded by the program who are not around any more.
Baily in his early years formed part of the Canon group of photographers, with Terrence Donaven, and Barry Lategon, Donovan died a few years ago, but Barry Lategon still lives in London and the last I heard still runs a studio there.

Uhhh, is that a misplaced post? Why do you keep spelling his name wrong, without the 'e'?

Hey, Gotta give you guys credit for giving things ago but don't get your hopes up. There are a trillion other people who 'want to set up a clothing line'. Frankly your wasting your time and money ripping off or doing something similar to BAPE and fashion store buyers will see right through it. Don't expect to be an overnight success so go and put some ground work into your design and marketing strategy, do your own research into manufacturing as its not a good idea to follow someone elses reccommendation find someone you personally can work with, create samples, throw them away and do some more until your 110% happy with what your doing. I read a good interview with the guy from Shadow Conspiracy saying that the attention to detail and level of commitment that they put into everything they do and put their name to is as if their whole families reputation was at stake. When your done don't bother stores trying to push your new line you will rarely get nowhere and you'll either get ripped off or dishartened. Put aside some cash for a stand at Margin or Bread and Butter if your wadded, get yourself a website or bribe hypebeast/coolhunting/highsnobiety/thefreshness/rthq and the likes to do a piece on your gear. Then go tell your story, sell and repeat. It's not easy and the cycle will never stop. Don't think you'll get the same success as Nigo but if you do come down my way and we'll crack some crystal.
