The K Foundation held a prize for the Worst Artist in the World in 1993. They gave the award at the same time the Turner Prize (20,000 pounds) was given, only they upstaged it by doubling the prize money to 40,000 pounds.

A vote was taken and the winner of Worst Artist was incidentally the same winner of the Turner Prize, Rachel Whiteread. The K Foundation threatened to set her 40,000 pound 'prize' on fire unless she accepted it.

In the spirit of the K Foundation, I ask you who is The Worst Artist in the World? Any type of artist will do, it doesn't matter. Or, if you believe that art and philosophy are fundamentally one and the same, who is the worst philosopher? Who is putting the worst ideas out there?

Who knows, they may even take it as a perverse compliment, proof that their work is subversive. So don't hold back! Let your bias pour forth.
