I suppose it is a good thing that mass cheapo stuff looks better than it ever did but fifty sewatshops down the line kind of makes me pause. It was said that fashion was society without responsibility ( who said? I don't remember) but I wonder how the cost of fashion is greater than its appearance. It obviously is but its rare to link all the unequal transaction points from conception to rack.
Against the dangerous frequency of vapidity- Am. Vogue Sept coming in at 800 pages- what redeems making the surface beautiful, other than illusion?
Now that there are quotas on Exports from China, every company will be looking for cheaper sweatshops to supply and demand their own future of fashion!
hey, even the cloth we make in our own country will still be a lot more expensive compared to import from china... it's crazy how they can do it. i heard that louis vuitton just bought or contract some fabric in china that made an exact copy of lv bags, they'd rather bought the factory than let those fakes ruin their business. but yeah, sometimes it's killing me if i have to pay 1000US$ for a bag all my life, as i really like the fabric and design but the price is killing. i've been trying to always buy an authentic one as an appreciation of the design, but i don't know how long i can keep holding up ;)

look around you and really pay attention... and you might not like your reality.
i think that's why people play psp and spent the moment in their sony world of illusion, why people go the the movies and experience someone else's world of illusion.
who wants to "keep it real" in this world?

Imagine in the future we all work for WalMark instead of Target....
I rather buy the $30 dress or top than spend $100 on a similar looking thing in style and quality, and it's still a knot off version.
Don't forget the more expensive fashion lines also spend more of their budget in marketing.
Hong Kong and parts of southeast asia was the factory for lots of fashion designers and manufactures back in the days now it's China.
Don't forget when you visit museums and look at some of the European antiques-some of them were made in China. We are just going back to where things were but in more rapid progression.
It's not rapidity that concerns me it's the way workers are being treated in some of the places.
