It's interesting actually now you say that (about the girls), yes I too liked the girl in the lace, I thought all the girls had something interesting going on (in a visual sense) but I thought perhaps they had been cast for the role, so to speak. I'm actually very glad they weren't if you know what I mean.
I've seen quite a few Antony performances, this one was certainly my favourite I would say. It took me a while to get my head around Antony's performance in the centre, the girls being filmed to the left, the large visuals and from where I was I could see Charles editing it all together live - There was so much going on. I love watching Antony sing though, I took my mum and she creid which was pretty special.
I think sometimes it's nice to have occassions where a performance is for the audience only, I know you will disagree (!) but one of the fantastic things about that particular performance was the fact the connection and emotion with the audience, which I think would be completely lost if not seeing it there, and then.
And yes, I think that could be a very interesting idea - I've got some thoughts - send me an e-mail if you want to chat further about it, I volunteer the studio as a space if that helps perhaps.
