Young Fashion Photographers (under 25)

Showing messages 1–10 of 14

Hey people,
I just wanted to see what the young photographers are producing nowadays. If you're young and a photographer, please post your website. I'm a 21 year old student and you can see my work at www.cameronkrone.com. I started shooting fashion last summer, but I was only in New York for 2 months (summer) and Atlanta has NOTHING so I don't shoot here. In fact, I haven't picked up my camera since August because I'm studying business at UGA and haven't had time.

Oh, and please comment on my work. I LOVE critisizm!! If you don't like any of my pics, I won't be offended at all.

Thanks everyone......I love this site!

I think you are very talented for a 21 year old. I'd like to see more individuality and creativity in your portfolio though, it's all very commercial and slick, which isn't negative, but i'd like to see a larger visual repertoire, more vibrance, more colour, more unconventional poses and expressions.

The one thing i think of as a bit kitsch is the music underlining the pictures ! The idea to add sounds is nice, but if i were a client, i think i'd be a bit put off by the choice in music (can't please everyone, i suppose :)).

Anyway, talent you have.

Oh, and i'm mainly referring to the beauty and fashion shots (i see you are more colourful in your non fashion and beauty shots). Still, a broader range when it comes to the visual language would be nice.

:)

One can change tunes ? Well that's something !
And i just noticed the ''editorials'' section (*ahem*). Yes, more experimentation, perhaps, but i think you're on the right path.

Pony! Thanks for your comments. No one likes my music and my parents despise it. I'm going to start anew with chill music with a sushi bar type of feel. Very laid back and "chill" instead of blaring rap! I'm getting rid of the cheesy logos in the editorial section and just adding them as links. Of course they haven't been published, but they are "series" unlike most of my other stuff. I want people to know I can put stories together.

I still have many more pics to add but I'm creating an HTML site so it will be easier to add all my new pics.

My fashion portfolio consists of model tests (DNA, Women, Marilyn, Supreme, etc) over a 2 month time period! I haven't spent ANY time really shooting and gathering ideas so I'm VERY GREEN at this. I was interning at Art Partner (reps Mario Testino, David Sims, and Mario Sorrenti) 3 days a week and assisting Craig McDean and Nathaniel Goldberg the remaining part of the week. I helped Nat around the office and went on a few shoots for V Magazine and the Ann Taylor campaign which was fun. The agents know that I'm green as a string bean in fashion photography but they seem to think I have "talent" even though it hasn't been fully realized.

Thanks for the critisizm Pony!!! I hate when people say "I love your work" because I know in my heart that it's nowhere near being "good" yet.......still have a year of assisting and a few dozen more model tests to go before I'd consider my work "good".

Thanks guys! Pony thank you and I'd like to let you know when my HTML site is up to show you new pics. Are you a young photographer?

Thanks for letting us see your work, I like the shot of the face close up at the opening.
I think pony is right I like your personel work and the way you have experimented with compasition in a lot of your work as well as using slow shutter speeds to capture the movement. I prefer the Model shoots done outside rather than your studio work. I think you have the talent as well as the conections and think that you could go far, keep on experiimenting, and possibly get a logo style to your work. And break those doors down. All the best Chris

I didn't notice any blaring rap (i would have preferred that), but ''chill music with a sushi bar type of feel'' *confused* :) Anyway, i think it's something minor, and tastes (aswell as music interpretation ... to one stressful, to another calming) varies from one person to the next. I like the idea of sound and picture though.

Criticism is great, what interests me the most is how people view their own work and how objective they are. You seem to be objective about your own work and have the talent, already at such a young age, makes me excited to see how you progress.

No, i'm not a photographer, well, i exhibited at the triennale of photography in my city with abstract digital photography, but i would say i am at the very beginning of photography. I work in art and design, am a studied textile designer with a foundation degree in fashion design, did a short fineart stint at an anthroposophical artschool and work in graphic design/illustration, aswell as being attached to a gallery.

Well, the thing is, I interned at Art Partner (www.artpartner.com) this summer. They rep Mario Testino, Mario Sorrenti, and David Sims, etc. I had to go through their MASTERFUL portfolios everyday and I started comparing my work to theirs and realized that my work is nowhere even close to being called "great". So, yea, maybe my work is OK for a 21 yr old, but, in the big picture, it is FAAAARRR from being "good" in my opinion. I'm very critical of my work because I know how much better I can be and it entices me to work harder. I used to be in love with my work but that doesn't motivate you to work harder.

I have a looooonnnnngggg way to go. Check out www.ryanmichaelkelly.com - 23 years old!

Thanks for your comments
