I suppose the fashion industry has to create something new or recycle something new in order to make a buck. Just don't like to have fashion people telling others what's good and what's not. Fashion photography isn't about photographing fashion too, it's about photography people.
A nude photograph is also considered fashion photo, and a headshot of a model with no makeup and hair done is also considered a fashion photo.
I disagree, I never find fashion photos that are just about the clothes to be interesting, it's only interesting when there are elements of people, women, and emotions involved.
Because there's a difference between shooting for fashion catalogs than shooting for fashion editorials, and it's really boring to shoot just fashion straight forwardly(even if the clothes are works of art), with just the correct lighting, showing every details, that's boring, but to shoot editorials, in fashion, the really great fashion photos have been the ones where the clothes is not the most important element, the photographers tried to capture the mood, atmosphere, get the emotions from the models, trying to make the models look more like real women with stories, and the photos has a lot of room to the imagination.
I don't think fashion is evil, it's the fashion industry and the media is not about creativity, it's about business and profits. It's great for them to tell people what's trendy and what's cool in order to make people feel they need to have stuff in order to be accepted, so they can make profits, I am not against making money, but the media and fashion industry are tightly going side by side, I hate those articles about what's in what's out, and who's cool or hip.
I guess it leads to the next question-what is fashion? Is it not about clothes?
