I am wondering what formats peole are using these days - I.E. if you are using film, are you using 10x8 or 5x4 or MF?
If digital, 35mm such as Canon full frame or MF backs such as Phase and Leaf.
Reasons for use would be interesting too.
I love Roversi's 10x8 pola stuff and am wondering how his style will translate into smaller formats, given the difference in 'look' of the larger formats.

Live breath and dream photography and put everything on the line for it, I know where you come from Matey.
If you know where you are at and are being realistic it will happen

i think you need to rent some of the equipments and try them out yourself, stop asking so many questions, just do it.

I have worked with pros and they use digital in different formats, they can still shoot with film in 8by 10, 4by5, and 35 mm formats, doesn't matter, nowadays if you shoot with films you can transfer them into digital for printing, all printing have almost all gone digital, that's one of the reasons you have to know digital photography or the technique and ways to transfer films into digital format. It doesn't matter in the end, you have to get really good with using your equipments and have a unique point of view.

Some formats does produce certain results when lens is concerned. I can't disagree. Digital saves the moment that might have been lost of there's a switch of film and polaroids inbetween. I guess that's one of the reasons why some photographers like Roversi does his 8x10 polaroids only.

Do you mean me???
I own all formats - 4x5, Fuji 680 Hass 6x6, Contax 645 and Canon digital. I don't think there's much I could rent and I don't see why asking questions has become a problem all of a sudden - isn't that what forums are for?

Forums are indeed for asking questions fella, sounds like somebody
mistook you for an Amateur Photographer subscriber!

I use all sorts, from a tiny Canonet QL17 Rangefinder & Contax T2 (film) to a Canon 5D and a Hass 503CXi + PhaseOne P30 for Digital.
Tools for jobs essentially, and chosen for the individual qualities of their results.

As an aside though: 10x8 Polaroid stands alone...

large format polaroid produces a look that i have yet to be able and duplicate digitally. it just has a magic about it that nothing can come close to. the rich tones and depth. the realism. i absolutely love it, but can't justify the cost of 8x10 polaroid as only a serious hobbyist.

i love shooting medium format. my hasselblad 6x6 will go to the grave with me.

larger formats give us the ability to use a longer focal length over a shorter distance from the subject as compared to common DSLR at 24mm x 16mm...which would require a much shorter focal length in the same distance away from the subject...the wholeness of the images are just different. images will look nicer blown up to billboard proportions from a large format image than from a digital back.
