i loved balenciaga. it had the same silhouette as the super-succesful show 2 seasons past, but with an extra layer of futurism.

Do they have a best/worst artists list (something along the lines of best: matisse, michaelangelo, degas, worst: hirst)? Didn't think so. Fashion is a creative world: say what you like or dislike about a certain collection/garment/whatever, but a view put in this crude way breaks no boundaries, provides no insight, and is frankly a little (okay a lot, screw politeness) boring. Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if that's as far as it goes, keep the countdown for your head...

i do agree ben. But at the same time I find these kind of lists quite interesting to read. I don't think it's particularly insightful, no, but fashion is a topos so ingrained with notions of preference and identification that I do feel that, at a basic level, this is what we are always doing to some degree when we look at clothes and images anyway. Do we like it, do we not like it? Do we identify with it, does it excite us? As long as it's not abusive then I think that it's totally warranted. Of course, if people can offer reasons for why they like something then even better. But I also think that fashion and the visual arts, for a lot of people, provide experiences that resist language and so making a more simple statement about what we like is just as viable.
