The nominations for the Brit Insurance Design Awards 2009 have just been revealed and we are extremely excited to announce that Helen Storey's Wonderland project is one of the 11 selected for the fashion category. Showcased on SHOWstudio earlier this year, the multi-faceted project documented the construction of Storey's first fashion collection in 12 years, using chemically-fabricated, biodegradable materials, created in front of a live audience. Others shortlisted include magazine issues, blogs, designer's collections, exhibitions and fashion film most of which have been covered on SHOWstudio in the past year: Maison Martin Margiela's 20th Anniversary collection, virtuoso knitwear designer Louise Goldin's Spring/Summer collection, The Barbican's The House of Viktor & Rolf Retrospective and Prada's Trembled Blossoms film.
The exhibition displaying work from all categories (including interactive, graphic design and product) will be held at the Design Museum and runs from 12th February until 14th June, with the winners announced at an awards ceremony on 18th March.
