.... SO ... I then ask " Who would you have put in her place to carry the shoot all the way to the Hollywood Fantasy and on the VOGUE cover ?. Who would be your choice that is far more interesting to the public and can be far more inspiring to buy that particular issue even if the purchaser self finds, believes or is convinced that using her as model is far to easy, luck of imagination or ' boring' ..... ???

Yes the media feeds but people want to be fed ... that is why people buy magazines otherwise they wouldn't bother to pick up VOGUE or any fashion magazine at all ... there is always the freedom to be dicerning ... :):)

For the Interview cover-Tang Wei, she just been pronounced HK citizen so she is allowed to work with the film/entertainment industry around the world. She was banned to work for the nude scenes she had done in mainland China in "Lust, Caution", and she is one of the most provocative, anticipated actresses in the global cinema scene now.

A great choice for CHINA ! ... but a choice of no real significance outside CHINA, read ' unknown ' ... sorry KA WAI but you do seem sometimes rather 'one way' bias .... a pity for someone who does seem to be a world citizen and who by living in the west would be able to understand why KATE MOSS is their choice , read SALES, whether we like her or not ..... She has just and simply passed the stage of the cliché word ... ' MODEL ' ... she is no longer a model !!! ... she is imbedded in the publics's sense of beauty, style, glamour, etc .... whatever that may mean .

The fim may appear 'pretty' .. 'to pretty' .... but that is not what makes the film appealing or hateful ... it is KATE giving it ' life' .... artist director aside !

I think it is rather .... intriguing .... that she is the only one who manages to increase the numbers of post at such a rapid tempo .... I don't think that Tang Wei, however wonderfully talented she may be as an actress could manage to break KATE MOSS's records in the matter of selling a fashion magazine in the west ... but in CHINA I'm sure she gets the record she deserves .... and that is GREAT !!

Give us a more realistic choice .... just out of curiosity ???

Kate is a better model than when she started, but I think this icon thing has taken on a life of its own, regardless of how she performs on the job, people have casted their opinions of her based on all the stuff written on her, mostly invented by the paz, and this image is in some ways in her control but in many ways not.

KA WAI can you mention an " ICON' that hasn't take a life of its own without all the ingredients you refer to ?

She just performs a great job and carries it with absolute precision, she gives the photographers top value for their money ... it comes natural to her ... ! She can be Marilyn but a la MOSS , she can pose ' a la Dietrich ' but with that MOSS allure and tongue-in-cheek effect ...... we see ' Marilyn ' we see ' Dietrich' but in realty we just see that SHE IS KATE fooling us with great finesse .... just magic !.

Please do tell us which model you believe can carry such visual performance with great ease and absolute conviction ?

I think PARIS HILTON ( by the way an ' ICON ' fitted for a Jeff Koons'... 'masterpiece' ) must be full with admiration on Kate's status as an ICON .... of course PARIS status as an icon is just like one of those Jeff's ' pretty 'balloons .... full of inspiration ... but of the 'amusing' kind ..... :):)

Until the new KATE appears on the scene .... KATE will be just the right choice for those who can chose freely from thousands of exquisitely beautiful and ' glamourous' .... ' models ' ... Yes there is no right or wrong opinion but you certainly seem to have a kind of NEGATIVE campaign going on in this forum about Kate Moss .... in any case that is the impression you do seem to give with great conviction ... as someone said she can never do right ... poor girl !
