Linking to her ongoing work ‘The Cult of Boys’, Toyin's offering for Political Fashion looks at the modern sexualisation of both the pubescent male and violence. Drawing on the political charge of contemporary images of gun culture, her unsettling film questions the moral behind our current ideas of ‘cool’.
Was you remark intended to enlighten us with you knowledge about photography or do you feel that it is all unfair and/of detrimental to Larry Clark's work ... by Tonyn attempting to put her point of view when using possibly Clark's work as an inspiration ..... regardless how similar her work is or might be to Clark's work ? .... and yet his work is undoubtedly 'inspired' by real life images that we are used to seeing .....
marko- this is fashion, not documentary!!! and thats what it is about- don't you get it? plus- if we always would compare who's been 'first'- whats Larry's influence? anyways- thats not the point. Toyins film is about fashion and it's contraversity within - think about it.
;) !
