Tonight Sølve Sundsbø opened his first solo show; 12 portrait images drawn from his 9 year career are installed in the brand new Spring Projects space in London's Kentish Town until 20th March. The Curator Andree Cooke explained that each image was consciously selected to be discrete and definitive: they are not interrelated in the way a body of work might be shot expressly for an exhibition or grouped together to suggest themes (despite the title of the show referring to the colour density of his work - 'Saturated').

In a brief interview I did with Sølve before the hoards arrived, Sølve defended himself against potential accusations of commercially-driven choices (the prints are for sale after all) and as he says, his most recognisable images are his Coldplay cover or Nike work, which are not featured. Principally shot for Numéro and Pop magazines, the portraits have been scaled big -think art world- are beautifully printed and feature equally beautiful and in-demand subjects, from Karen Elson and Jessica Stam to Elise Crombez and Gareth Pugh. In editions of 7 and incredibly competitively priced, you'll have to hot-foot it up to Kentish Town to catch one!

Does Nick ever sell prints of his campaign work? Or is that technically the house's property once commissioned?
