Junya Watanabe Dress Sew-Along

Showing messages 1–10 of 10

Who else is excited about this new pattern that SHOWstudio just released?
I think it would be great to get a discussion going where we can post questions and answers as we sew our own dresses. Everyone is welcome!

I'll kick it off by mentioning that I'm going to have to print my pattern on 8.5x11 paper, and then tape all the pieces together. I haven't bought fabric yet, but I think that vinyl & wool might be a bit hot for me in the summer. What sorts of fabrics are other people using?

This is a beautiful dress - I'm really looking forward to getting started.

ohhhhhh i am so pleased about this pattern
especially as i love junya watanabe's work, and i adore patterns from other designers.....
in august i will be presenting a workshop / lecture at the yerba buena center for the arts in sf about contemporary fashion construction and design (as in the last 10 years)... having the patterns is a gorgeous component......
thank you showstudio!
i love this aspect of the project, the interactive nature of the (virtual) space and the art - fashion is ultimately about construction, but this portal is taking it to a new level - and even more so the dialogue created by the designer passing on the pattern to the world of other creatives at different places, skills, focus and aesthetics - the exchange of actual physical information......
oh and i will be working on this piece myself and post it to the forum as it's finished
lovely lovely lovely
there's a big smile on my face becuase i am a practicing clothing junkie

It's a great concept.
Do you know of any good pattern sharing sites, for that matter ?

mmmm...... no pattern sharing spaces but that is a great idea!
i am designing the miss velvet cream website to launch by august so i think that the pattern exchange will have to be a part of it .... if you come across anything meanwhile, please post it here, as i will

FABULOUS STUFF. I think I will have a go at this one in leopard-print and lace. Does anyone know the e-mail address to send images in to? I can only seem to find direct links on the site in which you are unable to load an image.

Hey, I just found this site and this pattern, and - I have to admit - am stumped. I was wondering if you guys had a hints thread or tutorial of some type somewhere, cause I have seen some of the finished pieces and they are incredible.
