Magda Keaney is a curator and writer. Formerly Curator at the Australian National Portrait Gallery, she held a Research Fellowship with the photography collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum and subsequently worked with the photography agency M.A.P (Management and Production). She is currently Assistant Curator, Photographs at the National Portrait Gallery, London. Recent independent projects include The Terrible Boredom of Paradise by Derek Henderson at CuratorSpace, London (2005), Pret-a-Porter - Infrastructure Spectaculaire by Immo Klink at the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne (2006) and strategy development for a fashion photography award for the Photographers Gallery, London (2007). She was a judge in the 2004 Schweppes Photographic Prize at the National Portrait Gallery, London and has written widely on photography including for Portfolio, Photofile, Exit, Contemporary, Big, Pol/Oxygen and American Photo magazines. Her book, 'World’s Top Photographers Fashion and Advertising' was published by RotoVision in 2007.
