Susannah Frankel has been fashion editor of The Independent since 1999. Having studied English at Goldsmiths' College London University, she went on to work as assistant to the editorial director of Academy Editions, publishers of books on art and architecture. In the late 80s Frankel moved to BLITZ Magazine, of which she became deputy editor, until the title was forced to close in 1991. Her first book - Visionaries - Interviews With Fashion Designers - was published by V&A Enterprises in October 2001.
