Professor Penny Martin is a writer and curator of fashion and photography. She is the Editor in Chief of The Gentlewoman magazine and Professor of Fashion Imagery at London College of Fashion, before which she was Editor in Chief of SHOWstudio.com from 2001–08. Penny has lectured internationally and curated numerous exhibitions – most recently, ‘When You’re A Boy: men’s fashion styled by Simon Foxton’ at The Photographers’ Gallery, London and is co-curator of ‘SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution’ at Somerset House, London. Penny has contributed to Another, Beaux Arts, Blueprint, Contemporary, Fantastic Man, Frieze, Harper's Bazaar, i-D, Numéro, British Vogue, Japanese Vogue, Japanese Vogue Hommes magazines, La Repubblica and The Independent newspapers and BBC2's The Culture Show. She also consults to brands and individuals such as Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, L’Oréal Paris, Juergen Teller, The Collective Shift and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.
