FUTURE TENSE 'Scissors, Paper, Rock' by Tillmann Lauterbach

As a label that exclusively manufactures their line in France, the Paris-based designer Tillmann Lauterbach focuses his Future Tense film not on his design concepts, but on documenting the array of craftsmen who contribute to the construction of his collections. Scissors, Paper, Rock both documents and celebrates the exceptional skills of the specialised ateliers and manufacturers who work with Lauterbach, while at the same time offering a harsh insight into an increasing endangered industry.

I'm shocked that people haven't made more of a fuss over this. Really it's rather marvellous, and a genuine insight into an industry of handicraft which may not be there in another 30 years.

Beautiful and upsetting. Amazing that more designers based in Paris don't take advantage of these skilled craftsmen.
