WONDERLAND: At The High Table
Photography By Alex Maguire, London College of Fashion
The team around our high table. We have about 6 dresses on the go, all in different states of assembly, some stalled having hit problems, or waiting on other components, new ones which were originally at the bottom of the scrap box and have turned out to be better than one of the planned dresses. We keep dashing back and forwards to the one dissolving in the window of LCF, learning new stuff all the time.... the water travels upwards even when the garment is withdrawn from it over night, setting off dissolves and reactions when there is no one to see them. Different kinds of seams are better than others for taking the ever increasing weight as the dress gets heavier with its burden of water.
Hi there,
Has anyone tried anything on yet - if the dresses are worn even for a short time would sweat and moisture from the skin start to dissolve them in the same way as water? - just thinking about the salt in sweat and if that might add a reaction..?!
