BONED: Image gallery, film and essay launched!

Still from Another Man story

Another Man is out, which means we can at last unveil Nick and Alister's images from Boned, shot in May/June! You may remember the shoot was inspired by the neglect of men’s underwear, in terms of design and representation in fashion imagery i.e. the usual unadventurous pants donned by an oiled muscle man. Nothing wrong with that per se…But, by commissioning new designs, taking inspiration from starkly sexy black and white imagery by Robert Mapplethorpe and Horst P. Horst and converting their graphic power into glorious Technicolor, fresh looking possibilities for men's smalls were reached. The Boned project page has been updated to include an image gallery, an essay by Shaun Cole on themes close to the project and a movie of all the action on set.

could differences in undergarments be about seduction, about what's seen? strip tease is usually female domaine, no real male equivalent to dita von teese is there? maybe secret silent satisfaction that your significant other is hiding ruffles underneath his suit just for you but beyond the element of surprise, total alien territory...

What a pain. Smiths have stopped stocking Another man magazine on there shelves so I am having to wait another two or three days whilst they order a copy for me. We are really getting further out on a limb than ever with creative media in this area of the Country.

I think that with guys its more secretive in general, they do it in private but are embarrassed to because of masculine pear pressure in public. Unless it’s the full Monty of course.

I absolutely love it! amazing and stunning!
I love the fact of a guy in women intimates but still in the context of masculinity.
The colours, the lights, photos, everything works very well together! well done!
