Today marks the last day of a succesful event encouraging art world visitors -critics, curators and of course collectors- to come to Berlin over a long weekend at the end of April marked down now in the calender as Berlin Gallery Weekend. Premised on the idea that it galvanises an... [more]

Made for band Sex in Dallas, this video by SHOWstudio contributor Camille Vivier takes us on a climactic romp through the city of Berlin. From sunrise along the axis of Karl Marx Allee to the utopian visions of the Fernsehturm and the anarchy of May day, she captures the youthful... [more]

b Store should be commended for the risks it takes. Most shops wouldn’t invest in new designers whose reputations barely outlive their final year collections. At their press day for A/W, I spotted Mandi Lennard, the PR with an acrylic-taloned finger so firmly on the pulse, it’s close to gouging... [more]

If Paris has shown us one thing these past few seasons, it has been that the new fashion temperament demands to feel both at ease and ready-for-action in the same breath. Y-3, the collaboration label shared by Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto excels at this formula, working some beautiful couture-y elements... [more]

Curtain fabric has inveigled its way into the fashion imagination this A/W. Hussein Chalayan, Viktor & Rolf as well as Consuelo Castiglioni for Marni are all considering its possibilities in beautiful dresses. The faded sun-scorched variety, more commonly found in fifties living-rooms, might seem an unlikely choice pitted against the... [more]

It's an oft-repeated fact that the Internet has really screwed up the fashion calendar. But figure in the 'live fashion broadcast' phenomenon and then things really start to get confusing. Yesterday I went to the press preview at the -very handsome- new Marc Jacobs store on Mount Street in London's... [more]

Ah the memories! The SHOWstudio REVUE stream goes live NOW so tune in to witness the video-making wizardry of our guests as well as all those crazy fashion-inspired performances. It’s all there: Aitor’s living sculptures, a titillating game of pass-the-parcel, the nu-rave casino, Russell Sage’s tableau-vivant, the husky-voiced Natalie... [more]

As promised, here is some footage from Dysfashional in Luxembourg. The installation worked really well and I was very happy with how the interactive worked with the touchscreen. The space itself lacked some information about the project and people were eager to know the story behind it and the films,... [more]

It's so often that films of fashion shows are shot from the perspective of the viewers who attend them. What charmed us about Peter Mann's film of Peter Jensen's beautiful Autumn/Winter show 'Christina', posted on Current TV UK, was that it takes the view of the fraught and over-tired designer... I arrived in Luxembourg yesterday to set up SHOWstudio's contribution to an exhibition named Dysfashional. We are showing Anechoic which consists of the eleven films and the interactive. The interactive has beeen setup on a touchscreen which works really well as it allows people to simply draw with their fingers... [more]

With one last tug of her hat and a final cheeky flick of her wrist, the magnificent Agyness Deyn has just finished her last shot. And in one single day become SHOWstudio's favouritest model from Bury of all time. But that's just beginning: now Adam Mufti will take home the... [more]

Watch from an angle of the shoot they never let you see in the magazines as Nick guides Agyness through her poses on the video monitor, while she models a nudie-coloured Marc Jacobs number. We are just loving that hat!

The Proenza Schouler pieces you can see Agyness modeling for us are from the A/W '07 - a collection of twenties re-interpretations with dresses in jet-embellished chiffon and zigzag pleating. Look out for those patinaed crystal necklines too!

As the clothes we will be shooting today are quite lady-like, Miranda Joyce tells us that she's taking a 'graphic' approach to Agyness's make-up, with a big emphasis on the eyebrows. Though she's no special allegiance to particular brands, Miranda picked out Stella McCartney for skincare, Shu Uemura for powder... [more]

Chanel’s winter is one of sporty decadence next season, done in the way that only Karl Lagerfeld knows how. There are plenty of whites and metallics, like this handbag in twisted lamé tubing or these demi-wedged white pumps. Punctuated by some hot shades –satin kitten heels in turquoise, magenta... [more]

Are these art deco-inspired handbags from Marc Jacobs’ main line the fashion antidote to the oversized bitch-sac? The semi-precious stones you can see in this clutch and satchel include lapis and amber, set squint to give them an earthy vintage charm. Take a closer look and you’ll see that there... [more]

It can’t be easy being Kris Van Assche. Soon he will replace Hedi Slimane at Dior Homme, following in the footsteps of probably the most decade-defining designer of mens’ fashions since Tom Ford slicked up the alpha male for the Gucci 90s. It might have taken a while to trickle... [more]

As part of a curatorial project at Anandale College, Pasadena, in California, LA based artistStephanie Taylor presented a performance -a straight reading of one of her poetic non-narratives, that lulls you into a feeling that you are following a story, but ultimately it rather funny and absurd carefully ryming and... Thursday’s press day marathon began at Celine for the fourth of Ivana Omazic’s collections. ‘This collection is all about hoops, tubes and loops,’ we were told at Maison Martin Margiela yesterday afternoon. For me this collection was about shoulders, big and jagged ones. Half woman, half bath mat! The bobbly wool mini dresses on show at Stella McCartney's day today offer an ingenious solution to the 'glamorous, non-bumffly volume' required for this proportion, all without the use of fur.
