TRANSMISSIONS: Money: A Cautionary Tale
Lali Chetwynd, performing as Spartacus Chetwynd just performed with her troupe of collaborators a moral story to art basel's financially savvy audience, perhaps hoping to alert them to the follies materialism can engender. Full performance revealed in time, meanwhile here is Chetwynd's symbolic pot of gold.
............A project of ultimate and earnest relevance ( thanks SHOW ! )......it sums up what has being bothering me for quite some time ( as a layman)... " ART, VANITY & DECAY ! "........while in my opinion the MORAL CANNIBALISM seems to conveniently continue to please greatly the ‘CORPORATE BACCUSes’ with its " commodification of art", "triumph of the market" in everything from the monopoly of toilet paper up to the word ‘LOVE’...and with the system in FASHION METROPOLIS' as the only place to be as ‘creative creature’....why is it that there is absolutely no way to be able to ventilate such crucial developments as done hier to the very, very large audiences in stead of being kept in the periphery of 'the inteligentia' ...and somehow seems to remain ( as often ) in the realm of the revolutionary-art trenches ?.....while the urgency is greater than ever ..why not a TV Channel ( as the most powerful tool ) to reach as many laymen as possible ....at least an attempt !......if MTV was possible then ( rather naive of me of course but then so was David against Goliath) ...why not REVOLT ! TV ?????.....I would love to see the creators of this project to think about it..What is the point of making music if you haven't a way for the larger audience to appreciate it ?.........and ( hopefully) make then think harder.......MANIPULATION but with ............a meaningful purpose...
