You didn't think I was going to leave the YSL press day before disclosing the precise details of its follow-up to the Muse, did you? What's best of all about 'The Downtown Vichy' (whisper its name) is that its most striking feature, the checked, horse-hair panel, is a reference to the wonderful trench of the same material which was 'first out' in the show. Sadly, the trench didn't make it into production -damn those spineless buyers- so you'll just have to stroke your handbag and dream of Victorian upholstery fabrics instead.
