Plastic Fantastic
These neon wedges were some of the many delights on show as part of the Louis Vuitton Cruise Collection, unveiled to the press earlier today. The 'Cruise' range – destined for stores in November 2007- had a particularly youthful feel and was displayed against a backdrop of inspirational sporting apparatus including a gymnastics horse vault, LV monogrammed lockers and vintage tennis rackets. The sporting theme was incorporated into the design of many of the key accessories, alongside the use of couture detailing - plastic wedge shoes lined with pink silk and a jewelled necklace secured with braided climbing rope. The Cruise Collection also debuted an exciting new collaboration with jewellery designer Judy Blame, who has created a selection of his trademark safety pin trinkets and cleverly adorned a selection of key garments with buttons, based on designs sourced from the Louis Vuitton archives.
